Patricia, if the books are in very good condition you may be able to sell them for about $10 per book. If you are looking for a replacement value for insurance purposes you will need to take them to an experienced appraiser. Good luck.

Justin I found two war editions on this page http://www.johnsonreferencebooks.com/catalogue/books/outofprintref/index.html One was priced at 250.00 and the other at 150.00 This does not mean your book is worth that much, it will depend on many factors but it is a start. Good luck.

I have the Mein Kampf: Kriegs Ausgabe (or War Edition) by Adolf Hitler. It was written in 1940. Not sure of the publisher because I cannot read German. It is in excellent condition and still has the hard shell that it slides into. I have found many prices on different editions of this book, but nothing on the "War Edition" any help would be greatly appreciated!

Monica, for the most accurate appraisal you should take them to a local appraiser. If you want to sell them the appraiser could point you in the right direction.

These books were about the Sepoy Rebellion in 1857-1858. I believe your books were part of a 4 volume set published in London in 1904.

My son receintly found in hardback The History of the Indian Mutiny Vol. 1 and 2. It has no print date on it, but a hand written one of 1992, the month June 4th. It seems to be when it was given to John R. Denyes. It is a set that is in real great condition printed by the London Printing & Publishing Company Limted. Again there is no date on either of them. Do you know what I am looking at or where I could find help? I live in the sticks and that is no joke.

Betty, antique school texts are wonderful collectibles and decorative objects but rarely get very much at auction. You should take it to a local appraiser for an accurate evaluation or keep an eye on ebay to see if it sells there and for what price. Good luck.

I have a chatterbox boys annual circa 1908 in fair condition..what would this be worth?

-- Contributed by: chatterbox 1908

It sounds like a wonderful pieces of history! Alot of the value depends on the condition of the book. We cannot gie appraisals here but I can tell you that the sale prices of that book currently run from about $50 to about $65. The value of your book could fall below that or slightly above depending on the condition. Good luck!

I have a first edition copy of "American Cattle Doctor" by G.H. Dadd, M.D. published by Orange Judd & Company. On the inside cover is the inscription "Luke Cahill, March 29th 1879, Presented by Billie M?????, Com. Sargt. U.S.A., Fort Lyon Col." I can not make out the last name of the inscriber. Luke Cahill rode with Gen.Custer, and after the war was a stage coach driver. Later he moved to Colorado, and became a cattle rancher. I know this book is probably not worth a large amout of money, but any idea on what price it may fetch if I should decide to sell it? Thank you! Lisa Watson

I have an old book published in 1876. The author is Captain Crawley and the book is primarily about how to play card games that are no longer played in today's society. The pages have brown spots and the pages are well-worn, however it is completely readable. I have tried to have it appraised but have been unsuccessful as far. I would appreciate any assistance in my search. Thank you.

It sounds like you have something very unique. I'm sorry, I have no idea where else you can look. I will have to see if I can locate an expert on antique books who may be able to help answer your questions. This may take a bit of time though, so try to be patient.

I have seen it on used book sites for up to $11 but that doesn't mean yours is worth that. It may be more or less. This will depend on its condition among other factors. You will need to find a book appraiser for more information as we are unable to provide appraisals.

Bruce,

LTK is not able to provide a validation, you will need to take this book to a certified appraiser. If you are planning to sell it, having this certificate will greatly improve your chances at receiving a decent price.
